Gloria Steward Lycknell, IFDA, NKBA, is a residential and commercial interior designer, as well as a highly sought-after guest speaker and radio personality. She’s traveled the world in search of inspiration for her original, elegant, and functional designs—and yet when it comes to refrigeration, she always comes home to Marvel. Designer Tips
- I can’t think of a better luxury than having your own wine cellar at your fingertips. Marvel’s large selection gives me free range to include this luxurious feature into my kitchens and other rooms no matter how little or how much space with which I have to work.
- When planning your kitchen, try not to include all those overhead cabinets so that you can use the walls as places to hang artwork. This also prevents the closed-in look
as well.
- Marvel provides me with the quality I need and the ability to fit their models in the custom design of the cabinetry.
- One of my favorite designs is the large unit we built for this dining area. When the soft illumination lights are on inside of the Marvel product (61WC and 6BAR), it’s pure magic with the antique cherry finish of this piece.
- What fun it was to plan our space around Marvel’s Draft Beer Dispenser. Everyone just loved the whole idea and Marvel’s design allowed me to incorporate my vision into a great piece.
Gloria Lycknell Biography
Gloria Steward Lycknell and her work has been the subject of numerous articles in regional and national media, including Kitchen & Bath Design News and Interior Design. She is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer on all aspects of interior design, and is currently writing an A-to-Z book on the subject. Ms. Lycknell also hosts a popular radio program, House Calls with Gloria Steward Lycknell, where she discusses various interior design topics and answers call-in questions from listeners.
Ms. Lycknell carries interior design to levels of creativity and service far beyond the expected. She not only provides clients with personal consultations ranging from one item to an entire home or office suite -- she also designs -- and her talented staff fabricates the custom items needed to achieve effects that are individually suited to each project's unique requirements and look.
